Patuharakeke Trust Board are currently participating in a number of litigations. If whanau or friends wish to support our “fighting fund” it would be much appreciated. Of course there are many other ways you can show your support and upcoming events or activities where help is needed on the ground will be posted regularly in this section.
The day to day tasks of the board might include mahi at the kaumatua flats or kaitiaki monitoring activities in and around the harbour. These are but a few examples of the many types of opportunities for whanau to assist and connect with what is happening at home…
Many whanau and friends have contributed to this website but we would especially like to acknowledge Gilbert Paki, Harry Midwood, Guy Gudex and Paraire Pirihi for providing some of the historical context; David Milner for providing photos and maps, Kieran Connellan for his photos (see www.flickr.com/photos/mrhappy8); Terenga Paraoa Marae Komiti and Te Warihi Hetaraka for allowing use of the kowhaiwhai pattern; Juliane Chetham for ongoing maintenance of the site; and finally Big Fish Creative for pulling it all together. Nga mihi nui koutou
